3 day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga
Day 1: Marrakech to Dades visiting Ait Ben Haddou and Atlas Studios.
The first day of the 3 day tour from Marrakech begins with a pick-up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. First, we travel to Dades Gorges over the 2260-meter-high Tizi-N-Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains. Furthermore, we’ll enjoy the gorgeous mountain path and the lovely, colorful surroundings. We travel through a few Berber towns on the way to Ouarzazate. The Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, one of Morocco’s most well-known Kasbahs, will be our destination. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. After visiting the Atlas Studios and the “Taourirt Kasbah” in Ouarzazate, we’ll have lunch at a local restaurant. After that, we continue southeast into the Dades valley, passing by the picturesque Roses Valley and the Skoura Palmary. We will stay in a riad or hotel there and eat dinner when we get to Dades Goges, capping off the first day of our travel from Marrakech.
Day 2: Traveling From Dades to Merzouga Desert vis Todra Canyon.
Our 3 day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga starts on the second day with a stop in the Dades Gorges. After breakfast at your accommodation, we’ll go to Tisdrine (the famous curves in the Valley). Later on, we’ll take a drive to Tinghir and the Todra Gorges and take a stroll through the gorges, which are well-known among mountain climbers. Through a palm grove, we proceed to Erfoud. We may go to a foundry and fossil shop in Erfoud. Then we’ll travel to Merzouga, where the Sahara desert is, and Rissani. We see the desert sunset while getting ready to ride a camel into the desert. We have dinner around the campfire and spend the night among the sand dunes. After dinner, we’ll enjoy some native music performed with drums. Then you can ascend the dunes close to the camp to view the stars.
Day 3: Merzouga Desert to Marrakech via Daraa Valley.
A beautiful sunrise from the top of the Sahara dune will kick off the final day of your three-day trip from Marrakech to Merzouga. After finishing breakfast, you’ll head back to Marrakech, stopping in the neighborhood souk of Rissani if you have time (traditional market). Your next stop will be lunchtime after your trip to Rissani. When lunch is finished, you will resume driving and take in the scenery as you make your way to Marrakech. Your 3 day tour from Marrakech will end when you arrive in Marrakech.
