Explore the Sahara Desert on a 5 day tour from Marrakech. In just 5 days and 4 nights, you will get to see the prime spots that Morocco has to offer. We begin our journey in the tourism capital of Morocco, Marrakech, and end in the beautiful desert of Merzouga. To start our desert tour, first, we cross the high Atlas Mountains to visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has been popularized by the filming of many famous movies and TV shows, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Following that, we will travel through Ouarzazate and Rose Valley before arriving in Dades, where you will spend your first night. On the second day, we go to the famous Sahara Desert where you will ride a camel to your desert camp. In addition, this 5 day journey from Marrakech will take you to visit Meknes, and the Roman Ruins of Morocco and end in Fes city.

Day 1: Marrakech to Dades through High Atlas Mountains, Ait Ben Haddou, and Ouarzazate.
The 5 day tour from Marrakech starts after you meet your driver in Marrakech. First, we will travel for a number of hours via the High Atlas Mountains’ twisting roads. Further, you may take your time and make a few photo stops if you want to. Before you reach the Ait Ben Haddou kasbah. The Kasbah, is a beautiful Berber village made from clay and mud. In addition, it is one of Morocco’s most famous locations and a beautifully well-preserved medieval village that is well-known as a location for many famous movies including Gladiator, and Lawerance of Arabia.
Following, we will head to Ouarzazate where have time to visit the Atlas Studios and the Kasbah of Taourirte. At last, we will travel to the Rose Valley to see some products of the Damasca roes, before we arrive at Dades Valley where we will spend the first night of 5 day trip from Marrakech.
Day 2: Dades Gorge to Morocco’s Sahara Desert visiting Todra Canyon.
On the second day of The 5 day tour from Marrakech, we travel to Morocco’s famous Sahara Desert. First, our journey from Marrakech to Fes will take us to explore the famous Todra Canyon which is a good destination for people who like mountain climbers in Morocco. Following we will resume our journey in the direction of Jorf where we will visit the old irrigation system in Morocco.
In addition, we travel through Erfod where we will have a chance to visit a museum of fossils in the area. Later, we pass by Rissani where we will have time to visit the most traditional local Souk (market) in Morocco. Afterward, we will go to Merzouga Desert to spend a night in a hotel.
Day 3: Full day in Morocco’s Famous Sahara Desert.
On the third day of 5 day tour from Marrakech, we will explore Morocco’s famous Sahara Desert. First, we will visit Khamlia, a typical Saharan village to enjoy local music. Following, we visit some nomad families and explore the way they live, we may also have a cup of tea with them. In addition, we will visit Mifi, which was a mining area that was exploited by France colony in Morocco.
Second, we will return to Merzouga village to have lunch and some rest to get ready for a camel ride. After you finish breakfast you drive to the place from where you will ride a camel, and cross the sandy dunes. At final, the staff at the camp will serve you dinner and play drum music for you around the fire.
Day 4: Morocco Desert to Meknes passing by Zize Valley, Midelt, and Azrou.
The fourth day of our 5 day tour from Marrakech starts after we leave the Sahara Desert. After we leave the Sahara Desert of Morocco our first stop will be in the Zize Valley, which is an Oasis of palm trees. Following, we will resume our 5 day excursion from Marrakech to Midelt City where have lunch. Later, we will continue to Meknes passing by cedar and pine forests, where we will see the Barbarian monkeys. At final, we will head to Menes where spend the third night of our 5-day journey from Marrakech.
Day 5: Exploring Meknes city and travel to Fes via Volubilis.
The last day of the 5 days tour from Marrakech begins after your breakfast at your hotel in Meknes. First, we will explore the most historical sights, including, Bab Mansour which was the main gate of Meknes Medina, and the Mausoleum of Molay Ismail who was the founder of Meknes city and took as the capital of the Kingdom of Morocco at that time.
Following, we will head to visit Morocco’s famous Roman Ruins (Volubilis) which goes back to the fourth BC. At final we drive to Fes City which is going to be the last destination of our 5-day travel from Marrakech.
